A must-join community if you are, or love, a feminist. (NB: the topic of whether a "man" can be a feminist is outside the scope of this spotlight, but will probably wind up on the Writer's Block.)
hey! i need some help finding some scenes. i'm a third year acting major and we are doing contemporary scenes this semester. although i'm a theatre major, i hate reading plays & i don't actually get out to see a lot of new theatre (it's all a very long, tedious story)... anyway, these are the specifications, if you know of anything please leave me the name & author of the play! aghh thank you!
contemporary play (1950s+) 1 male 1 female in the scene age ranges 15-25 for both characters 5-10 minutes long
the guy i'm working with is a real goof. he loves to do stand up and i've yet to ever see him doing anything serious/overly dramatic. I, however, am almost the exact opposite. i'm terrible at comedy and tend to gravitate more towards serious pieces. we're both open to whatever, though. our theatre one teacher described us as moritz and ilse from spring awakening, and i think that's a pretty good theatre based analogy for the two of us and how we work together.
things i'm looking at include Jack & Jill by Jane Martin & Dying City by Christopher Shinn.
